What Makes Us Green

- We do not run our air conditioning at high levels and air is shut off each night to avoid wasted energy
- We are in the process of creating a program to reward our clients that take the green initiative to their appointments such as walking, riding bike
- We remind clients to use water wisely when in our establishment with our visual reminders to "use water wisely" signage
- Water left from our daily water pitchers is used to boil kettles for tea water the next day
- To enhance our tranquil atmosphere we use eco friendly tea lights crafted by an Ontario Candle maker specializing in Eco Friendly creations. All of our tea lights are NON GMO soy, lead free wicks and pure essential oils. No artificial fragrance. We also use battery operated candles in our establishment to avoid chemicals released into the air.
- We use water dispensers instead of wasting running water.
Our Local Green Projects

We are delighted to announce that we EXCEEDED our goal of 1000 trees or the cash equivalent by the end of 2013!! By Mid December of 2013 we had reached 1022 trees!
PLUS that means we contributed an addition 1000+ trees to
Eminence Organics Forest for Future Program for those trees to be planted in North America!!
Our efforts were as follows
- 70 trees to Youth Enviro Expo
- 30 trees to Bayview Elementary School JK/SK for Father's Day
- Cash donation to Hillcrest Elementary School towards their Outdoor Learning Center!
Growing Roots in Our Community

The Spa West 9th Street has formed a community partnership with Hillcrest Elementary school.
We have created the program " Growing Roots in Our Community"
To which we will sponsor and work in partnership with Hillcrest Elementary to assist them with their goal of creating an outdoor learning center.
We will be donating seedling trees as part of our Buy a Product Plant a tree campaign. The students will plant, grow and nurture the seedlings to which they will then be added to the school property for further enjoyment.
In 2011 Hillcrest Elementary School began a Butterfly garden project to which still requires additional funds for completion.
The Spa West 9th Street has committed to raising funds within our spa through various events and in spa raffles to assist them with achieving the goal to raise $500 before the end of June this year to complete the project.
This project will assist Hillcrest Elemenatry School with their goal to transform Hillcrest's school yard into a natural green space that will not only provide an educational experience but also foster creative play and environmental stewardship amongst the children at Hillcrest
The Spa West 9th Street will continue to support this project in the future raising funds to maintain the green space along with donating our time to maintain this positive learning environment.
